Somatic Therapy

Coming Back to the Body

Somatic Therapy is based on the idea that your body holds on to experiences, even the ones you’ve tried to think your way out of. It helps you reconnect with your physical self so you can release stored tension, emotion, and stress that talking alone doesn’t always reach. The body has its own memory and wisdom, and when you start listening to it, things begin to shift in real, noticeable ways.

This work blends gentle awareness, movement, and grounding techniques to help you feel safe and more present in your body. Over time, you learn how to notice what your body is trying to tell you instead of ignoring or overriding it.

What It Can Support

Somatic Therapy can be helpful when you feel like your body is stuck in survival mode or your emotions feel disconnected from what’s happening around you. It can support people who are experiencing:

  • Anxiety or panic

  • Chronic tension or pain

  • Trauma or posttraumatic stress

  • Emotional numbness or dissociation

  • Sleep problems

  • Burnout or exhaustion

  • Difficulty relaxing or staying present

It’s not about forcing yourself to feel better, it’s about creating space for your body to release what it’s been holding onto and find a new sense of balance.

What the Work Feels Like

Somatic sessions are gentle, steady, and deeply personal. You’ll explore how emotions show up in your body and practice grounding techniques that help you stay connected and aware. Sometimes that means noticing your breath, tracking sensations, or using movement to help energy move through instead of staying trapped.

Sessions are 60 minutes long and move at your pace. You don’t need any special skills or experience, just a willingness to be curious about what your body is communicating. Over time, that awareness helps you build safety within yourself and respond to stress with more ease and control.

Reconnecting with Yourself

Somatic Therapy helps you rebuild trust with your body and reconnect with the parts of yourself that have gone quiet. It’s about slowing down enough to listen, to feel what’s really happening, and to let your body release what it’s been holding. Your therapist will guide you through the process with care and curiosity, helping you find what safety and balance feel like for you.

As that connection grows, everyday stress becomes easier to manage and your body starts to feel like a place you can actually live in again. It’s a steady process that leads to more awareness, presence, and ease. If you’re ready to reconnect with yourself and feel grounded again, reach out and we can start from there.
