This is the inspiring story of Jessica Sharp who was able to get rid of anxiety through the Holistic Anxiety Fix program. Before she discovered me through a Facebook ad, she had suffered from debilitating anxiety for 15 years. She had panic attacks and suffered from anxiety. She also had anxiety about her physical symptoms, which often sent her into loops. Jessica was determined to heal. She did not accept the lack of solutions offered through conventional medication and was convinced that there was more to her anxiety than merely a mental illness that she had to learn to live with.

The thyroid gland produces thyroid hormone that regulates a wide range of body functions and affects almost every cell of the body. When it’s not functioning properly as in hypo- or hyperthyroidism, a vast array of disruptions occurs in the body that may also include a higher level of stress and poor mental health.

Paula shares her transformational journey that really signifies holistic healing. S1 EP 12: The 3 Foundations to Healing Anxiety

In this podcast, I am talking about three core areas of the holistic anxiety fix program which is a mind-body way of healing. The first phase is resetting your mindset. In mindset reset, we look at more of tangible approaches to heal anxiety like mindfulness, breathwork, and cognitive behavioral therapy. The next phase to healing anxiety at a foundational level is to look at hidden physiological causes. It’s really important to look at a broad range of issues. These include the gut-brain connection, the brain-to-gut connection, blood sugar levels, foods that balance your hormones, fat absorption issues in women, and inflammatory foods that might trigger your anxiety. In the next phase, we look at mineral imbalance in the body. If you’re depleted in minerals, a deeper level of healing is never going to happen.

S1 EP 10: Hypnosis For Anxiety

This episode, one of my favorites, contains a discussion with Michael Edwards, who spills the beans about his inspirational journey of healing from stage fright and becoming a therapist. He uses a very specialized kind of hypnotherapy called RTT (Rapid Transformational Therapy). This form of anxiety treatment borrows elements from Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Neuro-linguistic programming, and Hypnosis.

I decided to get really vulnerable and share my own healing journey so that you can have hope that regardless of how severe your symptoms are, you too can heal. My journey started in my mid-20s with gut issues after living in Tanzania, Africa. In the quest for answers, I saw doctors, naturopaths, and specialists. Several years into my struggle with gut issues, I became plagued with severe anxiety, and it started to impact my personal and social life. S1 EP 08: How Breast Implant Illness Triggered Stephanie's Anxiety

In this episode, I talk with Stephanie Gibbons who shares her healing journey with us. Hers is a journey with lots of twists and turns. For years, she struggled to find out why she was having panic attacks and debilitating anxiety episodes. She couldn’t rely on conventional anxiety medications as she was allergic to most and no medical practitioner was able to sort things out for her. Only then did she decide to go completely natural and start looking for answers by herself. During this process, she discovered my anxiety program and we got to talk in detail. I drew her attention to breast implant illness and celiac disease as potential underlying reasons for her anxiety. After initial hesitation, she was able to make some big decisions that allowed her to step forward in her healing in a major way.

I talk about the interconnection of brain and gut health and how taking care of gut health can heal your anxiety. The gut-brain connection is one of the connections that fascinates me the most. When I learned about this connection, I started to identify gut-brain connection issues in those around me. It became clear to me that many of the individuals who sought therapy for anxiety, or depression also had corresponding gut issues.

In this episode, we talk to Natalie Nowkawalk about EMDR therapy.  This is a specific therapeutic approach that has been shown to be very effective in healing unresolved trauma.  Why is this important to anxiety? Because oftentimes unresolved trauma can impact our mindset and our nervous system in ways that we aren't consciously aware of. Ensuring trauma has been properly processed is an important component of healing anxiety.

In this episode, I interview one of the Holistic Anxiety Fix program graduates, Jessica. When Jessica first approached me about joining the program, she was at her wit's end. She has been plagued by anxiety for over 12 years. The big challenge for her was that she was afraid to get into her car. By the end of the program, Jessica was able to make some incredible gains. Not only was she able to drive her kids out of town, but she could also go shopping in places like Costco without feeling totally overwhelmed. S1 EP 01: Neurofeedback: How Does It Work?

Neurofeedback is a sort of biofeedback that assists you in automatically harmonizing your brain waves (without medications). Your brain "learns" how to bring unusually rapid or slow waves within the typical range during neurofeedback sessions. While we monitor your brain waves, you can relax and watch Netflix.

Imagine what your life could be like if you healed your anxiety rather than merely managing it. Anxiety is a natural response to stress and is often a fearful anticipation of what is to come.  But when the anxiety response becomes so heightened, it starts to impact our day to day functioning, it is a sign that deeper levels of healing need to take place.  We become more empowered when we heal the deeper causes of anxiety so that we can embrace life with calm confidence, and become the best versions of ourselves.
